The spread betting firm World Spreads which offers financial spread betting on currencies, indices, interest rates, commodities and individual shares have reported strong year on year results. The World Spread group’s revenue rose 30% compared to 2008 with pre tax profits up around 22%.

The strong gains have been backed by an increased client base. The firm now has over 2600 active clients and is executing around 4,500 trades everyday. The active client base has risen 56% over the past year.

The next 12 months will see investment in to the company’s infrastructure to support the rapid growth along with its plans to penetrate the international market.
